Technology helps sex on a first date

Technology has been a part of our lives for many years now – even helping us out when the time comes to find a partner: chat rooms, video conferences, Facebook, andTwitter all help us to get to know better the person we’ve decided we want to date.

This has meant that the space between the first date and sex is shorter than ever. 80% of women and 58% of men confirm that if they meet someone through a social network, they have sex sooner than if they had met them via the more conventional “blind date.”

Shape and Men’s Fitness magazines carried out the surveys which yielded these results. Though 1200 people participated, we hardly needed a questionnaire to tell us what we already knew – we’re all part of the technological sexvolution.

Who hasn’t googled their partner to find stuff, or looked up the Facebook photos of the woman or man they’ve just met? This is already a part of daily life for the new technology generation – and it’s useful for something: communication through the internet and thesocial networks has replaced the first date, so that when the two people meet up for real, it’s as though they already know each other, so there’s no messing around – and it’s straight to sex and love. (The same goes for friendships also.)
